Sweet Alice
I'm not the greatest fan of Alice In Chains later work but this demo. The first ever songs of theirs I heard were "Man In a Box" and "We Die Young" on a metal show back before the first wave of mainstream grunge hit and the fact that they had a gothic undertone appealed more than most straight metal/hard rock with the exception of early Ratt and Motley Crue. Here's the band at their rawest on their demo which contains traces of the aforementioned bands. The band don't yet sound like the part of the grunge trend on this demo.
